Sustainability and the Environment

Ensuring environmental sustainability is a priority for us. Each home will be powered by renewable energy through air source heat pumps and photovoltaic panels with battery backup.

We will also be providing each home with an electric vehicle charging point.

We’ve undertaken research and surveys to see how we can maintain and protect as many of the natural features of the site as possible. The established woodland will be fully preserved, as will much of the natural hedgerow on either end of the site and down the middle of the site where there is a current field boundary.

The ecological assessment has shown that there are no habitats of protected species on site, and the surveys show that the site is not at risk of flooding or that the development will not lead to further flooding or land instability.

In terms of design and construction, we will be working hard to ensure that we reduce carbon use by using local staff, low carbon construction material, and designs that are energy efficient.
